Statistics do not tell you what a phobia is actually like. A shirt you cannot wear. A decision you made years ago that still does not make sense to anyone but you. The particular exhaustion of managing a fear nobody around you can see.

These are first-hand accounts, mostly from William, who lived with emetophobia for 27 years before recovering. They are here because recognising your own experience in someone else's is often the thing that makes recovery feel possible.
